Cocktail-inspired hardware

Cocktail-inspired hardware

A blend of our spirit and yours, we’re proud to present Cocktail, a decadent collection of luxury brass cabinet hardware two years in the making.

Inspired by Birmingham’s celebrated cocktail district, a destination home to noteworthy locations like The Grand Hotel and Fox and Chance where master mixologists perfect the art of classics with a contemporary twist. Our new collection reimagines sophisticated glassware silhouettes and details to form a trio of indulgent design stories.

From the iconic martini-inspired style of Colmore to the distinctive distillery shapes of Barwick and the grand deco textures of Victoria, the Cocktail collection captures the elegant ambience of the finest cocktail lounges, creating pieces that promise to radiate luxury throughout your interior.

Colmore

Design story - Named after Birmingham’s most cosmopolitan address, a renowned meeting place where apéritifs and cocktails are served in beautiful settings, the iconic martini glass profile leads the design of our Colmore collection.

Showcasing impeccably smooth contours with subtle concave details, dress your joinery with this expertly crafted range of cocktail-inspired brass cabinet knobs and pull handles.

Style notes - Colmore is pure elegance - the pieces let the profile, which consists of smooth rads, do all the talking. Opt for Colmore in kitchens and home bars alike and choose our polished brass lacquered finish for a look that radiates luxury.

Barwick

Design story - Embracing the aesthetic of Birmingham’s impressive roster of distilleries, effortless column shapes and linear ridges parallel the distinctive form of traditional distillery tanks in our Barwick collection.

Presenting a harmonious balance of classic contemporary character and designed in both plain and ridged styles, each with the option to add a backplate, adorn your space with this expertly crafted range of cocktail-inspired brass cabinet knobs and pulls, alongside a wall hook.

Style notes - Barwick beautifully portrays the cylinder design of the stills that gin is made in and the ridged pieces feature lots of modern texture. Opt for Barwick in living rooms and hallways and choose our chocolate brass lacquered finish for an indulgent look.

Victoria

Design story - Drawing inspiration from Birmingham’s Victoria Square where the city's atmospheric cocktail district begins, expect grand textures emulating opulent reeded glassware within our Victoria collection.

Refined tiered stepped details envelop the edges of each piece, bringing a sophisticated deco statement to this expertly crafted range of cocktail-inspired brass cabinet knobs and pulls, alongside a wall hook.

Style notes - Victoria brings instant impact to interiors with lots of machine stepped-details that nod to the steps of Victoria Square, Birmingham. Opt for Victoria to dress bespoke freestanding furniture like sideboards and dressers and choose our satin antique satin lacquered finish for a truly timeless look.

Behind the collection

We sat down with Sean Whitehurst, our Product Development Manager, to find out a little more about the development of this collection.

How did the collection begin?

“The product design that started the three design stories was the Colmore Cabinet Knob. The elegance of the design was unmistakable and the internal feedback highlighted the instant visual impact. The shape of the knob is an iconic profile, but we wanted to ensure that the rest of the hardware that followed fell in line with our vision for Armac Martin. As a result, if the designs that evolved seemed too kitsch, they were dismissed.”

Did you do anything differently to create this collection?

“This collection has been a little different for us to develop, as normally with our new products, one main design engineer will concentrate on the design of the range, however, on this occasion, the individual design stories have passed through many of our in-house designers and engineers hands.”

How did the trio of collections within a collection happen?

“As the ideas really started to flow, we soon realised that our cocktail-inspired range was abundant. Eventually, this led us to form three separate design stories and build a range based on the key pieces. For Colmore, the Cabinet Knob is the hero piece, so we developed the pull handles to mirror this design. For Barwick, it was the Ridged Cabinet Pull Handle, so we designed the other products to complement these. Finally, with Victoria, it was the Stepped Cup Pull Handles that really stood out for us, so we took a step back and redesigned the other Victoria pieces.”
