Renovations We Love: The London Home Fix

Nestled in the London suburbs is the home of Audrey, Mike and Nutmeg the cat, aka @TheLondonHomeFix - an Instagram account sharing the renovation journey of their first London home. The most recent room renovation sees their airy townhouse kitchen totally transformed from its former aesthetic. Let’s show you around...

The space

Skylights ensure Audrey and Mike’s open-plan, modern kitchen extension is full to the brim with light. Designed and installed by McClark Joinery, the spray-finished kitchen cabinetry and island in Farrow & Ball’s iconic Parma Grey flaunts a fresh, classic look.

Balancing the cooler cabinetry, an exposed London stock brick wall and natural wooden flooring add cosy warmer tones to the space, achieving an effortless balance. Brass fixtures and fittings further enhance this look tying the room together beautifully.

The mood

This kitchen is London-chic, with a contemporary classic feel. Whilst there are elements of new like Audrey’s bespoke designed splashback, each aspect has a classic counterpart to give the room a look that is both timeless and on-trend at the same time.

Audrey says, ‘Our style is very much centred on pastels so we always knew we wanted to incorporate pale blue cabinets in the kitchen to create a fun and bright space, with brass finishes on the handles and sink for added glamour.’

The details

Design-led without compromising on functionality, the focal island features an integrated dishwasher and bin, whilst the main cabinets keep the fridge/freezer hidden.  Accents of brass hardware lift the pastel cabinets and tie in with the taps that sit above a double butler sink.

Audrey and Mike opted for classic handles from our Cotswold range in an equally classic satin brass finish. Again, these details balance the old meets new style showcased impeccably throughout.
